Beacon’s Auxiliary Metal Finishing Solutions:

Specialized Coating Services for Small Components

Beacon has the capability to process small components half an inch long (0.5”). Our specialized small part coating services provide a smooth, high-performance finish for applications that are extremely challenging to ground for both e-coat immersion and powder coat spraying.

Custom Molds and Part Masking Solutions

Certain areas of a part must be free of paint, especially for close-tolerance components: any overspray can cause fitment or compatibility issues during the assembly processes down the line. Beacon employs a highly experienced engineering division that will design and develop complex custom molds and masking solutions to meet our customers’ most complex finish requirements.

Beacon has a variety of masking solutions including custom plugs, caps, or tape ideal for protecting threaded areas, bearing surfaces, electrical ground areas, and any areas that need protection from paint.

  • In-house engineering abilities to custom design, create and validate masking prototypes.
  • In-house 3D printers are used to create molds and masking for validation of mask designs.

Custom Protective Product Packaging

High-performance coatings will often also require parts to be protected after the coating application – especially in the case of delicate medical devices or extremely expensive industrial equipment. Beacon will perform any additional packaging requirements needed to protect the parts during transport, shipping, or storage.

Quality Assurance Services for Coated Parts:

Beacon Industries provides several quality assurance tests for finished products that will comply with various ASTM standards for demonstrating high quality of coated parts.

  • In-house capability to perform paint thickness measurements using cross-sectional microscope method apart from regular dry film thickness gauges.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of raw materials and other products being used. This includes periodic checks of conversion coating weights and pigment-to-binder ratio checks, among many other material properties.
  • In-house capability to analyze surfaces using 1000X microscopes:
    • Analyze surface roughness for parts processed by mechanical cleaning.
    • Analyze paint defects and ensure superior coating consistency.
